– As mentioned before, the design of the Realme GT 6 is the same as that of the Realme GT 6T, which makes it impossible to differentiate between them when they are kept side-by-side. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. After all, why change something that’s perfectly fine?
The Realme GT 6T has a sleek design that gives it a premium appeal. Its curved display design adds to the overall allure of the phone. This is true for the Realme GT 6 as well with one simple caveat. The Realme GT 6 has a glass back unlike the Realme GT 6T that comes with a plastic back.
– Display is another area where Realme has opted for the ‘why fix what’s not broken?’ policy. The display of the Realme GT 6 is similar to that of the Realme GT 6T. It offers bright and vibrant colours and it’s great for outdoor usage even when the Delhi sun is not so merciful. I re-watched the popular Netflix series ‘Emily in Paris’ on it, and I loved the sharp colours of the dramatic scenery in the show. I also watched ‘We Were The Lucky Ones’ on Disney Plus Hotstar. The show is set around World War II, which is why the colours are deeper and darker. The Realme GT 6 also handled this subdued colour palette well.
– Another point of similarity between the Realme GT 6 and the Realme GT 6T is the battery. Essentially, you get the same battery and the charging tech – nothing to complain about though. The phone charges completely in around 30 minutes and it provides a-day-long battery life on light-to-medium usage.
– Now, let’s talk about the processor. Realme has upgraded the processor in the Realme GT 6 bringing in Qualcomm’s 8-series chip to the fold. This chip is adept at handling almost anything that you throw at it with ease. It doesn’t heat up or stutter even when you push its performance.
On the software front, the phone runs Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0 and it offers three years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates. While the phone is full of a lot of unnecessary apps, which you will have to remove manually for a more clutter-free experience, it also offers a host of AI features. There is AI Screen Recognition that lets AI analyse content on your screen and extract text or images from it and then there is AI Smart Loop that lets you send selected elements, such as images or even text to other apps.
– Lastly, let’s talk about the camera. The Realme GT 6 does a good job in this department as well. The phone snaps vibrant images in daylight conditions with ample depth and details. The colours are pretty accurate and it also manages to capture shadows well. Overall, the phone offers a wide dynamic range. This is true for images captured in low-light conditions as well. The telephoto lens and ultra-wide-angle lens also offer a decent performance, especially when the lighting conditions are light. However, the 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens misses out on the details every now and then – a problem that persists in the Realme GT 6 as well. This is true for the front-facing camera as well as it struggles with edge detection.
Additionally, you get Realme’s AI features such as AI Smart Removal. This feature lets you remove specific objects from an image when accessing images from Realme’s Photos app.
The Realme GT 6 5G offers a value-for-money proposition to those who are looking for flagship performance at a price that doesn’t burn a hole in their pockets. It has a sleek and gorgeous design, fast charging battery, a vibrant display and a capable processor, which makes the phone handle almost everything with ease. Sure, the camera could have been a bit better, but overall, it offers a package worth considering.
