Before you get started with your PC assembly, you will need tools like a magnetic screwdriver, preferably with a flexible shaft. You can get a screwdriver set on Amazon that comes with all the essentials you need. Also, keep a USB flash drive handy to load Windows.
Once you have the right tools and are in the right place, gather all the parts. This includes a cabinet, among others. Make sure to get a spaced-out cabinet that fits all the parts and sits on your desk perfectly.
Processor and GPU are the key. A processor will power most things on your PC, so make sure you get the latest Intel (13th or 14th gen) or AMD chipset (5000 or 7000 series) after thorough research. Go for NVIDIA or AMD's recent GPUs after proper research.
Based on the processor and GPU, get a compatible motherboard (ATX, microATX, mini-ITX). Motherboards are essential and think of them as long-term investments. Do not cheap out on motherboards. Go with the one that has better upgradability.
Once you have the processor and GPU in mind, go with a suitable PSU unit. Also, make sure the PSU unit is compatible with your motherboard. If budget permits, go with Silver, Gold or Platinum standard PSUs, or else go with branded 80 Plus Bronze PSU.
In 2024, 16GB RAM is the standard if you are going for a gaming PC or even for a work PC. However, if your budget does not permit, go with an 8GB stick now and add one later. But make sure to have a dual-channel memory, i.e. 8x8 or 16x16.
Storage-wise, go with SSD, mainly, however, if you want more storage, you can get 2TB of HDD. But we must warn you that HDDs can be terribly slow. So if you have the budget, stick to an SSD of 1TB or more.
Some processors don't come with a cooling fan inside the box, so you should get an air cooler separately. If you are building a powerful machine, you must go with a separate air cooler or liquid cooler, depending on the budget. The latter can be quite expensive.
Windows 11 is free with limited features. You can download it and create a bootable flash drive (Pendrive). Or, you can get the premium Windows from the Microsoft store or the vendor, however, beware when getting a Windows key in the offline market.
Once you have all the configurations checked, you need a good monitor that’s at least Full HD and peripherals like a mouse, keyboard, headphones, and speakers. Additionally, you can get a mouse pad, USB hub, and other accessories later.
