But it seems like Samsung is silently working on a wild new foldable. Samsung might be working on a tri-fold smartphone, and thanks to some leaks, we have a rough idea of what to expect.

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, Samsung’s tri-fold phone is targeting a Q3 2025 launch. This new leak shakes up previous reports that said it might drop much later, well after the Galaxy Z Fold 7 series. This means a new foldable is ready to conquer the market.

Samsung Tri-Fold Key Details 

The design is the key highlight of this new device. The tri-fold won’t be like the usual book-style foldables with a single hinge, but will likely be similar to Huawei’s Mate Xt Ultimate. This phone is expected to feature two hinges, unlocking a full-size tablet experience. By folding beyond the usual dual-screen width, users will get a much bigger and more immersive display.

The patent leaks have hinted at this setup before and shows designs with two hinges and even a wild three-hinge. If Samsung’s tri-fold uses these designs then, users will basically get a tablet-sized display that folds into a pocket-friendly smartphone.

Samsung’s Tri-fold Launch Timeline 

Samsung’s tri-fold device won’t get a global rollout. The leaks suggest it’s likely to launch only in two markets: South Korea and China. Production is also said to be limited, so don’t expect to see this phone everywhere. Right now, it’s not clear whether Samsung will ramp things up if demand spikes.
