Samsung might finally be shaking things up with its chipset game. For years, Samsung has been launching both Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset phones in the US and its own Exynos processors in India and the Asian market. But leaks now suggest the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could bring Exynos to the US market for the very first time.

SamMobile spotted new firmware for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 that hints the upcoming Flip 7 might run on the Exynos 2500 chipset. This is a big deal because Samsung has kept Exynos chips out of key markets like the US.

While the company usually favors Snapdragon, they are testing an Exynos powered foldable for the US. This clearly shows that Samsung is trying to push their own chipsets. The picture isn’t totally clear yet. A recent leak claimed only Korea will get the Exynos powered Flip 7, while previous rumours suggested Exynos might roll out across most markets.

Samsung is mostly trying to utilize their own foundry and use their Exynos chipsets. They are testing the next-gen foldables with the Exynos 2500, confirmed by Geekbench results. Right now, the news about getting the Exynos variant is also not completely confirmed. But, considering the history of Exynos chipsets and issues with performance, this move looks really risky.

Alongside the Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7, Samsung is also planning on introducing a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE at the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event. This new phone would be targeting more budget-conscious users that still want that flip fun and flagship features.
