Google has shared some new updates to its Workspace suite. The Google Workspace suite includes different apps like Meet, Drive, Docs, Gmail, and others. These features are meant to enhance the productivity of the users.

Gmail gets the updated Help me write AI feature

Google is adding the updated Help me write AI feature to Gmail on Workspace. The feature does what it says, it helps you write better emails using Google’s Gemini AI. The latest version of the feature lets you write emails by voice inputs. So, you can now give voice prompts and then polish the draft with one click using Help me write. Users can also elaborate, shorten, or formalize the draft.

This feature is coming to Google One AI premium subscribers (Google One plans starting from 2TB), Gemini Enterprise, and Gemini Business customers.

Auto-translate captions in more languages in Meet

Google added translated captions sometime back, and now, it’s updated with support for more languages. Meet’s Translate for me feature will automatically detect and translate captions in your preferred language. Google has added support for 52 new languages, making the total number of supported languages to 69.

This feature along with ‘Take notes for me’ will be available in a new AI Meetings and Messaging add-on for $10 (Rs 830) per user, per month.

New AI security add-on to Teams

Google is making a new add-on dubbed AI Security available to Google Drive. This add-on will allow IT teams to automatically identify, classify, and protect sensitive files on Drive. But what does it have to do with AI? Google says that it uses privacy-preserving AI models that can be trained using the company data for the protection and classification of new files in Drive.

This add-on is also available for $10 (Rs 830) per user, per month.

Google Sheets and Docs get new tables feature

Google has added a new tables feature in Sheets and Docs that formats and organizes data in a sleek and updated fashion, as per the Google blog post. This feature will let users select a template so users don’t have to create a seperate spreadsheet. This feature will be added to all Workspace plans in the coming weeks.

Other than this, Google has launched a new workspace app dubbed Google Vids. The app makes the video creation process easier with AI features. You can read more about this feature in the linked story.
