Elon Musk’s revolutionary AI chatbot, Grok, has come under intense scrutiny from India’s IT Ministry. Grok is a generative AI chatbot developed by xAI owned by Elon Musk which is based on a large language model of the same name. The cutting-edge technology holder, Grok AI has raised several red flags in the country which led to high scrutiny from the government.

Here’s What Went Wrong and What Does this Mean for Grok AI in India:

In a recent turn of events, Grok AI has faced severe scrutiny from the information and technology ministry in India. The department is in words with social media platform X. It has been reported that the AI chatbot from xAI is found using Hindi slangs and abuse. The report has been filed by an unknown source and the IT Ministry is now looking into the matter seriously.

“We are in touch, we are talking to them (X) to find out why it is happening and what are the issues. They are engaging with us,” says PTI quoting Ministry sources.

The reports revealed that Grok, which is embedded on X started generating abusive slangs and opinionated answers on topics like Politics, Celebrity, Cinema, and more. In addition, the AI chatbot was found using regional slang languages and abusive term when asked certain questions. The issue came into light when an X user asked a question with Grok and when the AI chatbot failed to answer back, user then commented harsh words in response to which Grok also slurred back slang languages on the user.

Users on X started comparing Grok with ChatGPT in which they placed ChatgPT on higher position and Grok on lower level. In one of the post a user mentioned ChatGPT as Cillian Muphy in Oppenheimer and Grok as Dilip Joshi’s Jethalal in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma.
