But when her symptoms continued, she decided to get her blood pressure checked. That led to further tests, including an ECG, which showed her heart was experiencing irregular beats, a condition known as cardiac ectopy. Later, a CT scan revealed a brain tumour. Doctors explained that the tumour was likely not dangerous but, due to its location, it could not be removed surgically. Sam now takes daily aspirin and goes through regular brain scans to keep it under watch.

She now advises others to trust their instincts: “If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it. Technology gave me a warning I didn’t know I needed.”
