Apple is rumored to launch a slim and thin iPhone as part of the upcoming iPhone 17 series. Rumours have been floating around about the iPhone 17 Air, and the internet is already going crazy over it. However, the main concerns remain the battery life and the durability of this device. But, Apple might have already found a great solution to this problem.  news Also Read: iPhone 17 Air Price Leaked Ahead Of Launch And It Will Leave You Shocked For Sure

According to a report from 9to5Mac, Apple has determined that only 60% to 70% of users will be able to use the iPhone 17 Air for a full day without needing to recharge. In comparison, that figure is reportedly between 80% and 90% for other iPhone models. news Also Read: iPhone 17 Air Hands-On Video Reveals MacBook-Inspired Sky Blue Shade: What Else To Expect?

To tackle this issue, Apple appears to be bringing back the Smart Battery Case. This will be a new-generation version of the accessory we haven’t seen since the iPhone 11 era. Apple had shifted to MagSafe battery packs starting with the iPhone 12, but it seems the iPhone 17 Air’s ultra-thin body might not allow enough room for an internal battery. Some sources also say that Apple is being cautious about demand for this ultra-thin model, so production of the battery case could be closely tied to pre-orders for the iPhone 17 Air.

iPhone 17 Air Rumoured Specifications

The iPhone 17 Air will reportedly feature a 6.6-inch OLED display and is expected to support 120Hz ProMotion for ultra-smooth visuals. Under the hood, the device is tipped to run on Apple’s new and improved A19 chip, likely built on TSMC’s upgraded 3nm process. We could also see one of the biggest hardware upgrades yet with Apple’s in-house 5G modem finally making its debut.

Interestingly, rumours and leaks also suggest the iPhone 17 Air might come with just a single rear camera and a single speaker, a minimalistic move that could raise eyebrows.

While a lot about the device seems to be known, the return of the Smart Battery Case could be what saves users from the nightmare of recharging. As Apple gets ready for its boldest design shift in years Samsung is also preparing to launch the Galaxy S25 Edge which could be another slim contender coming soon.
