Xiaomi 17 Launches As First Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-Powered Flagship Phone: Price, Specs

Xiaomi today launched its flagship 17 series in China. The lineup includes the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. All three devices are powered by Qualcomm’s newly launched Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, making them the first to pack the flagship processor. The standard Xiaomi 17 succeeds last year’s Xiaomi 15 and features a Leica-tuned rear camera setup. Unlike the Pro and Pro Max models, the Xiaomi 17 misses out on the secondary rear display. Xiaomi 17 Price, Availability

Xiaomi 17 is priced at CNY 4,499 (approx. Rs 56,000) for the 12GB + 256GB model, CNY 4,799 (approx. Rs 59,700) for the 12GB + 512GB model, and CNY 4,999 (approx. The flagship phone is available in Snow Mountain Pink, Ice Melting Blue, White, and Black colour options. Xiaomi 17 Specifications, Features

Xiaomi 17 sports a 6.3-inch 1.5K (1,220 x 2,656 pixels) M10 12-bit OLED display with LTPO technology, 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. The screen supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, 1920Hz PWM dimming, and DC dimming. It is protected by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass.

The Xiaomi 17 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. The device runs on Android 16-based Xiaomi HyperOS 3 out of the box.

For photography, the Xiaomi 17 features a Leica-backed triple rear camera setup. It includes a 50MP 1/1.31-inch Light Fusion 950 sensor with f/1.67 aperture and Hyper OIS along with a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 50MP 2.6X telephoto lens with f/2.0 aperture. The rear cameras support up to 8K video recording. The front of the Xiaomi 17 houses a 50MP f/2.2 aperture camera for selfies. It supports up to 4K 60fps video recording.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17 packs a 7,000mAh battery with 100W fast wired and 50W wireless charging support. The phone also comes with magnetic charging, 22.5W wired and wireless reverse charging.

The Xiaomi 17 is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance. Other features include an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers.
