Vivo Y18, Y18e launched as new entry-level 4G phones in India

Vivo has introduced two new phones in India: Y18 and Y18e. Both phones belong to the entry-level price category and are the successors of the Y17 series, which debuted in India in 2019. Although most of their internals are the same, the Vivo Y18 has slightly more powerful specifications than the Y18e. Besides, these are also 4G phones, which is strange considering companies are now pushing for their cheapest 5G phones for under Rs 10,000.

Vivo Y18, Y18e specifications

Both Vivo Y18 and Y18e share some specifications, making it easier for the customers to pick either quickly. The new Vivo phones have a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and 840 nits of peak brightness. Powering the Y18 and Y18e is an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor with dual 2GHz Cortex-A75 and six 2GHz Cortex-A55 cores, based on a 12nm process. There is an ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU clocked at 1GHz for gaming and graphics. Customers get 4GB of RAM on both phones and up to 128GB of inbuilt storage, but they can increase the space using a microSD card of up to 1TB. Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 powers both Y18 and Y18e.

The differences in the specifications of both Vivo Y18 and Y18e are in their cameras mostly. While the Y18 has a 50MP dual camera setup on the back, the Y18e uses a 13MP double-camera system. For selfies, the Y18 has an 8MP camera and the Y18e has a 5MP camera, residing inside the waterdrop-style notch on the display. The Vivo Y18 also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, but the Y18e does not. They have standard connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB-C port. Both phones have a 5000mAh battery that charges at up to 15W speed through the bundled power adapter.

Vivo Y18, Y18e price in India

The new Vivo Y18 has two configurations. The one with 64GB of storage costs Rs 8,999, while the 128GB storage variant will be available at Rs 9,999. The Vivo Y18e has a single 4GB variant, priced at Rs 7,999. Both phones are now available from Vivo’s online stores and partner stores across the country.
