Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold
Samsung’s long-rumoured triple-folding smartphone, expected to launch as the Galaxy Z TriFold, could arrive with a lower price tag than earlier leaks suggested. The company briefly showcased the device during the APEC summit last month, giving a first look at its inward-folding “G-style” design. Now, a new report indicates that Samsung may price the phone slightly more aggressively than anticipated. Also Read: Samsung Beats Apple! A post on South Korea’s Naver platform by reliable tipster yeux1122 claims the Galaxy Z TriFold may cost around KRW 3.6 million (roughly Rs 2,19,000) in South Korea. This is notably lower than earlier estimates of KRW 4.4 million (about Rs 2,68,000). According to the post, the information comes from an internal sales channel update shared earlier this week. The leak also suggests the launch could take place sometime in December, and Samsung may offer the device in a single colour and a single RAM and storage configuration. Also Read: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 Tipped To Be Slimmer Than Flip 7, Battery Upgrade Also Expected
Samsung showcased a prototype of the Galaxy Z TriFold at the APEC summit, giving a quick look at how the phone folds using two inward hinges. When the device is shut, it looks and feels like a regular bar-style smartphone. Once unfolded, it opens into a larger screen that works more like a small tablet.
The Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to roll out only in a few markets, including South Korea, China, Singapore, Taiwan, and the UAE. Samsung is reportedly planning a limited production run, with around 20,000 to 30,000 units planned for the first batch.
The Galaxy Z TriFold is said to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and come with 16GB of RAM. The outer screen may measure 6.54-inch with up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness, while the inner display could extend to 9.96-inch with 1,600 nits brightness.
The phone is also rumoured to pack a 5,437mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is expected to offer better efficiency compared to traditional lithium-ion cells. For photography, Samsung may include a 200MP primary camera on the back.
In the premium foldable category, the Galaxy Z TriFold is likely to compete with models like the Huawei Mate XT, Mate XTs, and concept devices such as the Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold.
