Samsung is expected to launch the next foldable phones in less than two months. Like every year, we will see two new foldables, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6, which will succeed the Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5. Ahead of their launch, the pricing of the Z Flip 6 has emerged and it’s not good news for those planning to buy it. The next clamshell foldable from Samsung will be slightly expensive as per a report. Let’s see the exact rumoured price of the phone along with its features.
The tipster OnLeaks has shared the purported pricing of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 with Smartprix. The clamshell foldable phone is tipped to cost $1099.99 USB for the base variant with 256GB of storage and $1219.99 USD for the top variant with 512GB of storage.
To recall, the starting price of the Z Flip 5 at launch was $999, which means we are looking at a $100 price hike. As per the publication, the India price may also be hiked. It may start at Rs 1,09,999 for the base variant and 1,19,999 for the top variant.
Like last year, this year as well, we will see two variants of the phone – 256GB and 512GB as mentioned above. As for the colours, this time around, we are expected to get at least five colour options such as Mint, Silver Shadow, Blue, and Yellow, as revealed by a previous leak.
Coming to the specifications of the smartphone, the Samsung Galax Z Flip 6 this year may not bring big changes. The major reason for that is Samsung upgraded its design last year by giving it a bigger secondary screen. This year as well we should see the same cover screen, i.e. 3.4 inches. The main display is expected to be a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and an FHD+ resolution.
The foldable phone is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is the latest chip by Qualcomm. The Galaxy S24 lineup also has the same processor. The Flip 6 will most likely have a dual-rear camera system on the back with a 50MP main lens.
As for the battery, the Flip 6 foldable phone is expected to have a slightly larger battery than the predecessor, i.e. a 4,000mAh cell (up from 3,700mAh). Lastly, it will boot Android 14 OS and have One UI 6.1 on top.
