The smartphone market saw a new innovation with the introduction of the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate triple-fold smartphone. And right after that, we got to see rumors related to a new Samsung triple-fold device. Now, in a recent development, Tipster Yeux1122 suggested that moniker for the device. According to him, the smartphone will be called Galaxy G Fold following the footsteps of the Z Fold series. Analyst Ross Young suggested that the device will be launched somewhere around January 2026.
As for the basic specifications, previous leaks related to the device revealed that it will bring a 9.96-inch display and 6.54 inches in the fold state. And yes, the folding mechanics of the smartphone will be pretty different from what we get to see in the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate. Moreover, the device will most probably have a folding stance that will allow the display to fold inwards from both sides.
The blog post also mentioned device will weigh similarly around H. Here, H could be a reference to Huawei Mate XT Ultimate. Nonetheless, Samsung is all set to bring a device thicker than the Mate XT. Furthermore, it will also have an enhanced display along with protective films. It has also been revealed that the South Korean giant will bring 3,00,000 units in total. And of course, it will be available at a slightly higher price as compared to the foldable devices from smartphones.
Samsung is eyeing to capture the market with the launch of the triple fold device as this is going to take on the market as a sole standing triple fold device. The reason behind the same is that the Huawei XT Mate is only exclusively available in China. Now, it will be interesting to see how the users react to the same and whether will they be willing to pay a more than hefty amount for a device that folds three times.
