Xiaomi has officially announced the Redmi Note 15 Pro series launch date for China. The brand confirmed that the new devices will debut this week in the home country. The brand took to its Weibo handle to announce that the Redmi Note 15 Pro series will launch on August 21 at 7:00 PM (local time) in China. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is confirmed to offer enhanced durability. According to the company, it will be Redmi’s first phone to sport a symmetrical micro-curved design both on the front and the back. For durability, Redmi has installed its strongest dual-side protection system on the Redmi Note 15 Pro+. It comprises of Xiaomi’s Crystal Glass on the front for improved screen protection and a lightweight yet strong fibreglass on the back that enhances resistance to bending and impacts. According to Redmi, the Note 15 Pro+ can withstand ten times more drops compared to conventional designs. The device is also claimed to be the first in the industry to pass a granite surface drop test from two metres, repeated 50 times.
Though the specifications for the device are still under wraps, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is rumoured to sport a quad-curved OLED display with 1.5K resolution. The phone is expected to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 coupled with up to 16GB of RAM.
Under the hood, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is tipped to pack a massive 7,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. It is expected to run Android 15-based Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 out of the box. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is also said to come with satellite connectivity.
For optics, the smartphone is said to feature a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP telephoto lens.
