Realme is coming up with a new smartphone series in India.

Story Highlights

  • Realme will launch the P series smartphones in India soon.
  • These phones will be aimed at the mid-range.
  • The Realme P series 5G phones will be sold exclusively on Flipkart.

Realme is all set to launch a new smartphone series in India called the ‘P’ series. These phones will be targeting the mid-range market, which is already flooded with smartphones from all the leading brands, including Realme. Currently, Realme’s phone portfolio includes the GT series, number series, Narzo series, and C-series. Therefore, the upcoming P-series will be the second family of phones to be denoted by an English letter. The details such as the specifications of the phones in this series are, however, unclear currently. Realme has also not revealed when it is planning to launch this series.

What will the Realme P series 5G bring?

Realme’s top-end GT series has not seen any launches for more than a year, which could be one of the reasons why the company is coming up with a new series to target that customer base. Realme has not specified the models or their launch timelines yet, but the company could be targeting April for the release. These upcoming Realme P series 5G phones will be available exclusively on Flipkart, meaning customers who prefer brick-and-mortar stores will have no luck should they decide to buy these phones.

Where is Realme’s ultra-cheap 5G phone?

Realme has been aggressively pushing out smartphones over the past few weeks. The company introduced the Realme 12 series, which includes the Realme 12 Pro Plus 5G, Realme 12 Pro 5G, Realme 12 5G, Realme 12 Plus 5G, and Realme 12x 5G. The Narzo series also received upgrades with the launch of the new Narzo 70 Pro 5G. These are one too many models confined in a range of about Rs 10,000, but the company has been silent on the launch of its ultra-affordable 5G phone. Back when Madhav Sheth was the CEO, the company said it was working on a 5G phone that would cost under Rs 10,000. That phone has not arrived yet, while rivals such as Lava and POCO are gradually expanding their portfolio to include sub-Rs 10,000 5G phones.
