After launching the OnePlus 15 in India, the company now seems ready to pull the wraps off its next “affordable performance” phone – the OnePlus 15R. The design looks familiar. The phone is expected to carry a flat-frame finish with a square camera island, similar to the OnePlus 15. If the leaked visuals from China are anything to go by, the 15R could arrive in three colour options – black, green and violet – giving users a bit of personality while keeping things minimal. OnePlus 15R: Expected cameras and hardware

The OnePlus 15R is likely to stick to a dual rear camera setup, headlined by a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultrawide. A telephoto lens isn’t expected this time, which might feel like a step back compared to older R-series models.

However, the brand is compensating in another department – battery. The Ace 6T is confirmed to pack an enormous 8,000mAh battery, which is significantly bigger than the 7,300mAh unit in the OnePlus 15. If the 15R inherits this, it’ll be one of the biggest batteries ever on a OnePlus phone. Fast charging is expected to remain strong too, with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging in the mix.

On the performance front, the OnePlus 15R is rumoured to run on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. OnePlus previously confirmed it would be among the first to launch a phone using this chip, so the 15R fits right into that promise.

The display could be a 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a smooth 165Hz refresh rate-great for gaming and everyday use. The customizable Plus key from the OnePlus 15 is also expected to be carried forward, letting users assign shortcuts for mode switches, quick actions, or its AI-powered Plus Mind feature. For durability, the phone will likely include IP68 and IP69 ratings along with stereo speakers.

OnePlus 15R Launch timeline and expected price

The OnePlus 15R is expected to launch in India before the year ends, possibly in December. Pricing remains under wraps, but considering the OnePlus 15 received a price bump, the 15R might follow the same trend. For reference, the OnePlus 13R launched at Rs 42,999 – so expect the 15R to land slightly higher.
