OnePlus is just a few days away from its official launch in China. Ahead of it, OnePlus has confirmed one of the biggest upgrades coming to its next flagship – the battery. The OnePlus 15 is set to arrive with a 7,300mAh Glacier Battery, which is a major bump compared to the 6,000mAh unit on the OnePlus 13.
In simple terms, it means longer screen time, fewer top-ups, and more hours of gaming or video playback before you reach for the charger. OnePlus seems to be focusing heavily on extending battery endurance this year, especially with its emphasis on “ultra-high-frame-rate gaming.” Also Read: Looking for a New Phone? Battery life isn’t the only area seeing improvement – charging is getting a serious boost too. The OnePlus 15 will support 120W Super Flash Charge and 50W Wireless Flash Charge. Also Read: OnePlus 15 Global Version Surfaces On Geekbench Ahead Of Official Launch
So, whether you prefer plugging in or going wireless, the phone should fill up quickly. For context, the OnePlus 13 offered 80W wired charging, so this is a notable jump in speed. And if OnePlus’s claims hold true, you’ll be able to go from nearly empty to full in under 25 minutes.
OnePlus first teased its “Glacier Battery” tech last year, and it looks like the company has fine-tuned it for this flagship. The larger battery, combined with the more efficient Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, should result in better power management overall. For heavy users – gamers, streamers, or those who just live on their phones – this combo of higher capacity and faster charging could be one of the OnePlus 15’s most practical features.
The OnePlus 15 will launch in China on October 27, with three colour options – Sand Storm, Absolute Black, and Mist Purple. It’ll ship with Android 16-based ColorOS 16 in China and OxygenOS 16 globally. Expect a 165Hz display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, and a triple-camera setup on the back.
However, the Indian launch date is still unknown. The leaks and rumours suggest that it may debut in India in November, earlier than the usual launch pattern.
