Nothing's CMF Phone 1 may launch at an aggressive price of Rs 12,000

Nothing’s spin-off brand CMF was announced last year. The brand was considered a sub-company selling affordable accessories such as TWS earbuds, smartwatches, power adapters, etc. But guess what? CMF may also start selling smartphones. A new leak has highlighted the CMF Phone 1, the company’s inaugural device. It is rumoured to be an affordable smartphone, sitting under the Nothing Phone 2a, which made its debut in March this year. Let’s look at the price and specifications of the upcoming phone.

CMF Phone 1 India price and specifications

CMF Phone 1 is expected to be aggressively priced in India. The device may launch at a price tag of around Rs 12,000, as noted by 91Mobiles. If that happens, this will technically be Nothing’s cheapest phone under the CMF branding. However, it will face competition from several other devices from brands like Redmi, Poco, Realme, Tecno, and others.

As you’d guess by its rumoured price tag, it won’t be a fancy handset. A render of the device shared by the publication reveals its rear design. It appears to be an ordinary-looking handset with a flashy orange shade, the same colour that represents the CMF brand. Other colours like white and black may accompany it.

The device features a single camera on the back with an LED flash unit below it. The overall rear design is reminiscent of the Apple iPod and the iPhone 5c. There are no details on the single camera that will be placed on the rear.

As for the other specs of the phone, it is expected to come with a 6.5-inch display. The screen may have a high refresh rate support. It’s unclear if it will feature an HD+ resolution or a Full HD resolution.

In terms of power, it may draw that from a MediaTek Dimensity chipset. Since it will likely be a Dimensity chipset, it will have 5G connectivity. The device is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Nothing OS Lite is expected to run on the phone with Android 14 underneath.

Similar to Nothing phones, CMF Phone 1 may also receive 3 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of security updates. Apart from this, there’s no other information to discuss. It is to be noted that the aforementioned information hasn’t been confirmed by CMF or Nothing, so take it with a pinch of salt, until we hear further.
