iPhone Air 2 In The Works? Leak Reveals Design And Camera Details
Apple is reportedly working on the iPhone Air 2, the next-generation slim iPhone. Leaked renders suggest a dual-camera setup ahead of its expected 2026 launch.

Apple’s iPhone Air paved a new direction for the flagship-maker; however, it didn’t land quite well into the market. The ‘slimmest’ iPhone received a lukewarm response, yet the tech giant is reportedly focusing on the iPhone Air successor. A new leak on Chinese microblogging site has suggested that the second-generation of the slim flagship is under development. The tipster also shared the renders of the iPhone Air 2, hinting at some design and camera upgrades.

iPhone Air 2 Design, Key Specifications
Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station shared the alleged render of the second-generation iPhone Air, referring to it as the iPhone 18 Air. The images suggest that the 2026 iPhone Air will maintain the ultra-thin profile, while offering dual rear cameras. The tipster claims that Apple will retain the horizontal camera bar from the first-generation device. According to the leak, the iPhone Air 2026 will feature an additional rear camera – likely resulting in a 48MP main + 48MP ultra-wide lens setup. For comparison, the recently launched iPhone Air sports a single 48MP main camera with 2x optical zoom option.
The tipster did not mention anything related to the internals of the second-generation iPhone Air. However, previous reports have indicated that Apple is working on A20 and A20 Pro chips for the iPhone 18 lineup. If the company follows this year’s strategy, then the iPhone Air 2 (or iPhone 18 Air) could pack the A20 Pro chipset – thereby, resulting in performance gains and improved efficiency.

The rumoured iPhone Air 2 could be a part of Apple’s 2026 lineup expected in September next year. It may launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the first-ever iPhone Fold. The standard iPhone 18 and the iPhone 18e could debut together in early 2027.
