Apple always manages to keep its fans guessing about what the brand is planning to unveil next, and this time it is no different. After launching the iPhone 17 lineup with power-packed features, the new leaks now suggest that Apple is quietly preparing for the iPhone 17e. The upcoming iPhone will take the centre stage in the early phase of 2026 and will be positioned as a more affordable option in the iPhone 17 lineup. The tech giant might bring the iPhone 17e with a new iPad and a new MacBook.

iPhone 17e Expected Specifications

Processor

Early reports indicate that Apple might change its strategy and instead of bringing iPhone 17e with the A18 chipset, the company could bring it with the A19 processors, paired with 8GB RAM. In addition, the device will also be able to handle the Apple Intelligence features effortlessly.

Connectivity

In terms of connectivity, Apple is expected to ditch Qualcomm modems and bring its own C1 cellular modem in the iPhone 17e. Another striking upgrade might be a custom N1 wireless chip that helps in unlocking support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.

Display

One of the major upgrades that we could see in the iPhone 17e is in the display, rumored to be packed with the now-standard Dynamic Island. To recall, the iPhone 16e is equipped with the notch-style design. Nevertheless, the company might stick to the same old 60Hz refresh rate.

For display, the iPhone 17e might feature a 6.1-inch OLED panel without LTPO support.

Camera

Several leaks hint that iPhone 17e might see a noticeable upgrade in the selfie camera department. This time, Apple is expected to bring its upcoming iPhone with an 18MP front camera, the same one used in the iPhone 17 lineup. This will allow users to have sharper video calls and improved portrait shots. The rear side, however, may continue with a single-camera layout, distinguishing it from the higher-tier models.
