Apple has unveiled two new iPads at the ‘Let Loose’ event. The all-new Apple iPad Air (2024) comes with an M2 chipset and succeeds the existing iPad with the M1 chipset. The iPad Pro (2024), on the other hand, comes with an incredibly powerful M4 chipset and succeeds the existing M2-powered iPad Pro. Apple iPad Air is the company’s latest mid-range iPad model. The iPad Air comes in two sizes – 11-inch and 13-inch. The latter has 30 percent more screen real estate. The tablet is powered by an Apple M2 chipset. The chip has a 15 percent faster CPU and 25 percent faster GPU. Overall, it is 50 percent faster than its predecessor. Apple has also showcased the iPad’s gaming prowess by demoing the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage game. The tablet supports the Magic keyboard and Apple Pencil.
Here are the India prices for the new iPad Air.
— 11-inch iPad Air – Rs 59,900 (Wi-Fi)
— 11-inch iPad Air – Rs 74,900 (Wi-Fi + Cellular)
— 13-inch iPad Air – Rs 79,900 (Wi-Fi)
— 13-inch iPad Air – Rs 94,900 (Wi-Fi + Cellular)
For education, the 11-inch model starts at Rs 54,900 and the 13-inch model starts at Rs 74,900. It will be available from May 15.
Apple iPad has an 11-inch and a 13-inch model, both are super thin at up to 5.1mm thickness. It is even thinner than the iPod Nano, making it the thinnest iPad ever. It has two colour options – Space Grey and Black. More about the screen, this is the first iPad with an OLED display. Interestingly, Apple has used Tandem OLED that has 1,000 nits of and 1,600 nits of peak brightness. Apple calls the screen Ultra Retina HDR display. It has a nano-texture glass that maintains the original colours.
As for the performance, the new iPad Pro is powered by Apple’s M4 chipset. This is a massive upgrade from the M2-powered iPad Pro. The M4 chipset is built on the 3nm node that enables high brightness and smooth performance. It is 10x faster than the original iPad Pro. It has Dynamic Caching and Ray Tracing support. It also has a new Neural engine that is suitable for AI workloads.
The tablet features a 12MP main camera and a LiDAR Scanner. It also has a TrueTone adaptive flash for better document scanning. It features a 12MP front camera that is now placed on the side, making it suitable for landscape mode.

The new iPad along with its accessories will be available from May 15.
Apart from this, Apple also launched a new MagicKeyboard, starting at Rs 29,900, and an Apple Pencil Pro, priced at Rs 11,900.
