Apple iPhone 17 series is all set to launch in 5 days with four new models. There are the usual iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, there will be a new member – the iPhone 17 Air, which is replacing the “Plus” model. What’s special about this new member of the iPhone 17 series is that it is tipped to be the slimmest iPhone.
But it seems like Apple is trying to shift the usual price range with this new iPhone, and it may not be pleasant for you!
iPhone 17 Air Price Leaked
As per a latest report of TrendForce, the iPhone 17 Air is tipped to start at a whopping $1,099 for the base variant of 256GB, which is the current iPhone 16 Pro price for the same storage variant. Based on the report, the iPhone 17 Air may also get 512GB and 1TB storage options with an expected price of $1,299 and $1,499, respectively.
This is a serious price jump considering that the iPhone 16 Plus was launched at a starting price of $899 for 128GB and $999 for the 256GB storage variant.
At this massive price, what is Apple expected to bring with the iPhone 17 Air? Based on the leaks and rumours, the iPhone 17 Air is tipped to be powered by a new A19 chip. It may feature a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. And this is the main highlight of the non-Pro iPhone members this year. Leaks say that the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Air may finally move ahead of the old 60Hz refresh rate and are expected to get a 120Hz refresh rate.
However, the iPhone 17 Air may settle with a single 48MP camera at the back instead of a dual camera setup that we usually get with the standard models. On the front, the iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to feature a 24MP selfie camera, along with the other models. If the leak comes true, this will be the first time that any iPhone will get this pixel boost to the selfie camera; otherwise, all the models have been settled with a 12MP front camera.
But the real question is – do all these upgrades (and a few degrades!) justify the expected price hike of the iPhone 17 Air? We will have to wait until September 9th for the official launch during Apple’s event “Awe Dropping.”
