MWC Barcelona is witnessing some of the great groundbreaking discoveries in technology that are changing the whole dynamics of what we could think is possible in technological innovations. With regard to this, Lenovo has showcased a futuristic concept PC, dubbed Yoga Solar, that could harness the limitless energy from the sun to stay charged. Yes, you heard it right!
Lenovo’s Yoga Solar PC can harness light from any source to boost its battery. It integrates a high-efficiency solar panel that comes with an exceptional 24% conversion rate. This could only be possible with the help of ‘Back Contact Cell technology’ that the tech giant integrated in its concept laptop. However, this technology was centered to solar panels till now and with Lenovo integrating it in laptops, the tech giant is making a significant leap toward sustainable computing.

With the help of Back Contact Cell technology, the Lenovo Yoga Solar PC would be able to provide up to one hour of video playback in just 20 minutes of charging. Additionally, the company also says that the Yoga Solar PC concept will also be able to generate power even if its charged in low-light conditions. It weighs 1.22kg and measures 15mm in thickness. The company claims it to be world’s first ultraslim” solar-powered PC.
With Yoga Solar Concept PC, the company also unveiled its ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 that features an expanding and rollable OLED display. To recall, this was showcased at the MWC 2023 as a concept. The company is expected to launch the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 somewhere in May 2025. The company also unveiled latest portfolio of AI-powered business devices including ThinkPad™ and ThinkBook™ laptops. The company expanded the ThinkPad and ThinkBook AI PCs and launched ThinkPad X13 Gen 6, ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1, and ThinkBook 16p Gen 6. In addition, Lenovo also expands its T and E series with ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 Gen 5.
