Moving to a new music app usually means one annoying thing – rebuilding your playlists from scratch. Spotify is finally fixing that. The company has started rolling out a new “Import your music” option that lets you bring playlists from other streaming services directly into your Spotify library. news Also Read: Spotify Rolls Out New Premium Plans In India, Lossless Audio Now Available: Check New Prices, Features

This tool works through a built-in integration with TuneMyMusic, the same third-party service many users have relied on for years. The difference now is that you no longer need a separate website or app – everything happens inside Spotify. news Also Read: You Can Now Share Spotify Songs Directly To WhatsApp Status: Here’s How

Spotify Native Playlist Import Tool

Spotify says the feature is rolling out globally, and all mobile users should see it in the next few days. The idea is simple: if you’re switching from Apple Music, YouTube Music, or any other service, you shouldn’t have to start fresh. news Also Read: OpenAI Brings Spotify, Canva, Coursera and More Inside ChatGPT: Here’s What You Can Do

With TuneMyMusic powering the backend, Spotify is expected to support transfers from several platforms, including Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, SoundCloud, Napster and more. The full list hasn’t been officially confirmed, but Spotify says the tool works across most major services.

How To Import Playlists To Spotify

If the feature has already reached your device, here’s how to start moving your playlists:

  • Open the Spotify app on your phone.
  • Go to Your Library.
  • Scroll down and tap Import your music.
  • Follow the prompts to connect with TuneMyMusic.
  • Pick the service you want to import playlists from.
  • Select the playlists you want, hit Transfer, and you’re done.
  • Spotify doesn’t limit the number of playlists you can import, and there’s no cap on how many songs each playlist can include.

What Happens After You Import Your Playlists

Spotify says your imported playlists behave just like any regular Spotify playlist. You can:

  • Convert them into shared playlists
  • Invite friends to collaborate
  • Change the cover art
  • Use Smart Filters
  • Turn on playlist transition effects (where available)

There’s also a subtle but important detail – Spotify’s recommendation system will start using songs from your imported playlists. This means your daylist, Discover Weekly, and Release Radar should get more accurate over time since they now understand your entire listening history – not just what you’ve streamed inside Spotify.
