Apple announced iOS 18 earlier this week and it’s already available for developers to install on their iPhones. One new handy feature discovered by developers is the ability to shut down your iPhone in one tap and a slide. Yes, there’s finally an easy way to power off your iPhone in iOS 18. You no longer have to press two keys on your smartphone to access the power-off option. If you are a developer or just testing the latest iOS version on your iPhone, let’s see how you can access the easy power-off button in iOS 18.
Apple’s iOS 18 is the most feature-rich version of iOS ever and the addition of the quick power-off function. The power-off key is part of the new and revamped Control Center. It’s located at the top of the Control Center. Let’s see how you can access it.
Step 1: Once you are on iOS 18, swipe from top to bottom on the upper right side to bring up the Control Center.
Step 2: Now, you should see the power-off key in the upper right corner. Tap on it.
Step 3: Tap and hold the “slide to power off” option and then slide it to the right to shut down your device.
Wasn’t that easy? iOS 18 has made some of the things way easier for iOS users. The Control Center itself lets you customize most things allowing you to choose different functions.
Other than this, iOS 18 users on the latest iPhone 15 lineup display time in the upper right corner even when the phone is on the Power Reserve mode. This means even if your phone dies at 0 percent and you aren’t able to find a charger to charge it, it will still show the time. This is similar to the Apple Watch, which shows time even when dead due to battery.
Apple’s iOS 18 has some really cool features that you can try if you have installed it on your iPhone. The home screen customization features let you place your apps anywhere on the screen and add tints to them. Further, you can now lock individual apps on your iPhones, which was a long-awaited feature, improving Apple’s privacy and security ambitions.
While many iOS 18 features are known, some of them might have been overlooked by many. These include the T9 dialer that shows contact suggestions, Tap to Siri, Math calculator in Notes and Calculator app, and RCS messaging.
