Microsoft has revealed the second batch of titles joining Xbox Game Pass in September 2025, and the lineup is packed with fan favourites, sequels, and even a few surprises. Among the highlights are RoadCraft, Frostpunk 2, Hades, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which are rolling out across console, PC, and cloud this month.

Big Names Headline the Update

Kicking things off, Saber Interactive’s RoadCraft joined the service on September 16. The vehicle simulation game puts players in charge of disaster recovery projects, where realistic physics and detailed machinery are used to clear rubble and restore infrastructure. RoadCraft is available via Game Pass Ultimate and Standard on Xbox Series X|S and Cloud.

The very next day, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2023), Overthrown (Game Preview), and For the King II became available for Game Pass Standard subscribers on Xbox consoles. Microsoft also confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will arrive day-one on Game Pass on November 14, with a beta running between October 2–8 for Ultimate and PC Game Pass members.

Survival and Strategy Arrivals

Fans of survival city-builders can look forward to Frostpunk 2, which lands on September 18 for Game Pass Ultimate members. Set 30 years after the original, it challenges players to lead humanity through an unforgiving frozen wasteland. Meanwhile, roguelike hit Hades makes its return to Game Pass on September 19, ahead of its highly anticipated sequel, giving players another chance to dive into its fast-paced dungeon crawling.

More Games Coming This Month

Other notable additions include Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, a top-down spin-off of the popular co-op shooter, Wobbly Life, Endless Legend 2 (September 22, PC preview), and co-op roguelike Sworn (September 23). Younger audiences will also see family-friendly titles like Peppa Pig: World Adventures arriving on September 25 along with Visions of Mana. To close out the month, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light joins the library on September 30.

Looking ahead, October will bring new day-one launches such as Sopa – Tale of the Stolen Potato and expanded titles for Game Pass Core subscribers, including Cities: Skylines Remastered, Disney Dreamlight Valley, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.

Titles Leaving Xbox Game Pass

As always, some games are cycling out. On September 30, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Sigma 2, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, and Terra Invicta (Game Preview) will exit the service.

With heavy hitters and variety-packed indies on the way, September’s Wave 2 update shows Microsoft doubling down on making Game Pass a must-have for gamers.
