Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is still more than a year away from launch, but a new leak has surfaced online that appears to show early in-development footage from the game. Rockstar Games hasn’t shared anything new since delaying the title last month, but the latest clip has once again sparked interest among fans waiting for updates. The leak comes from a demo reel belonging to a former Rockstar Games employee. The reel reportedly includes a short 13-second clip that looks like it was recorded during the game’s development phase. The footage was posted on X by user SynthPotato, a page known for tracking Rockstar-related news and updates. Also Read: GTA Online Goes Free On PS5 And Xbox After GTA 6 Delay: How To Claim
The leaked clip shows two different animation sequences. In the first, a male character unlocks a bicycle from a stand and gets on and off the bike. In the second, a female character jumps off the back of a pickup truck. The truck appears to be parked near what looks like Ocean Drive in Vice City – a location already confirmed for GTA 6. Both animation clips look clean and fairly detailed. The characters, their movements, and the Vice City-like backdrop make it likely that the footage is from an early build of GTA 6. The environment in the background still looks unfinished, which lines up with it being in-development material.
Rockstar Games still hasn’t shared any proper gameplay footage from GTA 6. The second trailer for GTA 6 included a mix of cutscenes and in-engine shots, but no raw gameplay. Before Rockstar released the first trailer, a major security breach had already leaked hours of early gameplay online, revealing key details like the dual protagonists and the modern Vice City setting.
Since then, Rockstar has largely kept development under wraps, sharing only trailers, a few screenshots on the official website, and delay announcements.
GTA 6 was recently delayed for the second time, moving its release from May 26, 2026, to November 19, 2026. Rockstar said the additional time was needed to ensure the game meets the studio’s quality standards.
