Microsoft Xbox has released a new Xbox adaptive joystick that will let gamers play with only one hand. The joystick is specially designed for players with restricted mobility. And it is going to be a blessing for the users who find it difficult to use the thumbsticks on the present controller layouts.
The latest joystick will work as a companion for the Xbox adaptive controller and other controllers from the brand. It comes with four buttons on the top with two additional buttons for triggers and bumper control. The Xbox Adaptive Controller will ship at a price of $29.99.
The latest controller by Xbox is customizable and lets the players remap all the buttons as per their preference and requirement. Furthermore, it also has printable 3D thumbstick toppers with which you can adjust the height, width, and size of the thumbsticks.
As mentioned by Microsoft, players can plug in the controller directly to their Xbox/PC or they can connect it to the Adaptive Controller for an adaptive setup. Apart from that, Xbox has also announced a new Lite SE controller from 8BitDo that is again built for gamers with limited mobility.
All the low-resistance buttons offered in the Xbox Lite SE controller are placed at the top and it also includes Hall Effect joysticks. As of now, Microsoft has not announced the exact date when the controllers will be up for sale. However, speculations are that they will reach the Microsoft Store in 2025.
As for the Xbox Adaptive Controller, it was launched to cater to a specially-abled audience. Now, the adaptive controller helps these users play their favorite game by providing them with button remapping, connect switches, joysticks, and buttons in order to create a custom controller that fits the needs of different users.
