Bandai Namco just unveiled their new DLC for Tekken 8. The new announcement happened at Combo Breaker 2025, which is a tournament known for fighting games. Right before the Tekken 8 finals, Bandai Namco revealed the return of Armor King, who will be dropping as a DLC character on June 27, 2025. It got a huge pop from the crowd as the masked wrestler returned to the game.
The new trailer dropped by Bandai wasn’t long, but it introduced Fahkumram and brought back King, and he looks flashier than ever. King’s back, but this time he also gets a major upgrade, as his abilities have been supercharged. The developers confirmed he’s got new Heat-based abilities and improved follow-up chains, along with a brand-new costume featuring gold accents and glowing effects during Heat activation.
The new official gameplay showcases Fahkumram and Anna Williams as part of the new DLC. King is the third addition in Tekken 8’s Season 1 DLC lineup, which means there’s just one more fighter left to be revealed. The rumours say that we could be getting an all new character in the series, which is really exciting for Tekken fans.
King’s back, and this time he’s not just here to throw suplexes. He’s bringing story content too. Bandai Namco confirmed that his chapter will dive into his ongoing fight to fund his orphanage, while also crossing paths with newer characters like Reina and Victor. A short teaser even shows King facing off against Lars, hinting at a deeper role in the main story this time around.
The community fans are already hyped and some are calling him strong, maybe too strong. Along with King’s release, a major balance patch is dropping. We can expect tweaks to heat mechanics and character damage adjustments.
King will be available as part of the Season 1 DLC, launching on June 27, 2025. Alongside him, players will also get access to a brand new wrestling ring stage and unlock extra customisation options. There’s even a Tekken 3-style outfit for the OG fans that’ll bring back retro nostalgia.
With King back in the spotlight, Tekken 8 is turning into a celebration of legacy and evolution. This new announcement adds to the excitement for the game and is pure fan fuel.
