One of the most anticipated games of the decade, Grand Theft Auto 6, is making waves with its interesting additions. For years, ‘AAAA’ has been the standard label for games with massive budgets and advanced technology. Now, GTA 6 has been expected to be the world’s first ‘AAAA’ game.
Devolver Digital co-founder Nigel Lowrie has suggested that GTA 6 deserves a new category, and hence, it might get a ‘AAA’ title.
AAA games are the most ambitious titles in the market, with companies like Sony, Microsoft, Ubisoft, and EA known for producing AAA titles. These games require hundreds, sometimes thousands of people working on them over several years. AAA games require long production cycles, huge development teams, and hundreds of millions spent on marketing.
As per Lowrie, GTA 6 is the one with a different league, meaning it has its own cultural power coupled with Rockstar’s history of innovation, so the game will set the stage for something far beyond a typical blockbuster.
“There are AAA games and then there’s AAAA games, and I’d argue that Grand Theft Auto is potentially the AAAAA game,” says Lowrie
As per leaks and rumors, the game’s development budget could reach $1 billion, making it the most expensive video game ever created. There have been reports of technical upgrades, too, that showcase highly detailed environments and hyper-realistic animations.
The technical upgrades in GTA 6 are reported to surpass the usual AAAA offerings. Analysts predict GTA 6 could earn over $10 billion, with $7.6 billion expected in just the first two months after launch.
AAA game comes with cutting-edge graphics, polished gameplay mechanics, professional voice acting, and cinematic storytelling. GTA 6 might be the one with all these features, designed to appeal to a wide audience and generate massive sales.
