Battlefield is one of the most popular games on PC. Now, after Battlefield V, it looks like EA and Ripple Effect are cooking up something big for the next Battlefield game. New leaks about the upcoming title are really intriguing and might make this one stand out. Battlefield 6 (or whatever EA ends up calling it) is expected to drop before March 2026, and one of its biggest features might just be a free-to-play battle royale mode.
According to reliable data miner Temporyal, the classic Operation Firestorm map is getting a full remaster. This time, it’s set in Turkmenistan and ties into the whole NATO vs. Pax Armata conflict. The most exciting part is that the infamous ring of fire is making a comeback. The map will shrink as the match progresses, forcing players into tighter and tenser gunfights.
The remaster of 🔥 "Operation Firestorm" in Battlefield 6 has been revealed as the previously unknown location in Turkmenistan.

The battle royale mode will feature the usual looting loop where players can grab weapons, gadgets, and tactical call-ins across the map. But this time players can complete missions during a match to earn field upgrades. That adds an extra layer of depth, making each drop more than just a race for the best guns.
Also, an interesting new upgrade is that players who get eliminated early will get a chance to come back. This new system is called Oversight, and it’s a complete game-changer. Normally, in squad-based battle royales, if a player dies, they’re stuck just watching their teammates. But with Oversight, eliminated players can stay in the game and operate remote cameras and drones.
But, this won’t be that easy. Players still alive will need to capture Oversight terminals scattered across the map. Once activated, those terminals let dead teammates control advanced security systems with lethal potential. This makes eliminated players a key to winning battles.
If this leak holds true, Battlefield 6 could finally crack the code on battle royale and stand out in the crowded market. With Firestorm’s return and that wild Oversight feature, this could be the most ambitious multiplayer Battlefield we’ve seen in years. EA hasn’t confirmed any of this yet, so take things with a pinch of salt. The rumoured launch of this new Battlefield is set before March 2026.
