Asus ROG Ally X launch: Asus has finally launched its second-generation handheld gaming console, the ROG Ally X in markets across the globe after revealing it last month. The newly launched ROG Ally X is the successor to the ROG Ally 2023 that arrived in India at a price of Rs 69,990.

To recall, during an interview with Techlusive earlier this year, Asus India, Vice President – Consumer and Gaming PC, System Business Group, Arnold Su, had told us that the company planned to launch a second-generation handheld gaming console later this year. “…we most likely will launch a second generation [handheld gaming console] this year. We will still keep the Windows features, but we will focus more on gaming,” he had told Techlusive at the time. Now, almost five months later, Asus has officially launched the ROG Ally X.

The Asus ROG Ally X is priced at $799 (Rs 66,386 approximately) and it’s available in select markets at the moment. It remains to be seen when Asus brings this handheld gaming console to India.

The Asus ROG Ally X comes with a 7-inch full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a screen-to-body ratio of 16:9, Gorilla Glass Victus protection, a screen refresh rate of 120Hz, a response time of 7ms, and a screen brightness of 500 nits. It is powered by the 4nm AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme Processor with Zen 4 architecture. This processor is coupled with AMD Radeon Graphics GPU, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM with dual channel memory and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD.

On the audio front, the newly launched Asus ROG Ally X has two speaker system with smart amplifier technology, AI noise-canceling technology, built-in array microphone and Dolby Atmos support. It also features hi-res audio certification for headphones. In terms of the battery, this handheld gaming console has a four-cell 80Whr Li-ion battery with a 65W Type-C AC adapter.

For security, the Asus ROG Ally X has a built-in fingerprint sensor and Microsoft Pluton security processor and for connectivity it has Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. It runs Windows 11 Home.

Lastly, the ROG Ally X features ROG Intelligent Cooling, which included specially designed heat pipes that operate at peak efficiency in any orientation, and a new third exhaust vent to help keep the mainboard and panel cool.
