Realme has introduced a lot of phones in India in the recent months. From the new P and C series devices to the new number series and additions to the Narzo lineup, the company has expanded its smartphone lineup across price ranges in India in the past couple of months. However, one series that has remained missing from the company’s smartphone lineup for quite some time is the Realme GT series.

For the unversed, Realme last updated its GT series in India back in 2022. While the Realme GT Neo 3 arrived in India in April 2022 at a starting price of Rs 36,999, the Realme GT Neo 3T arrived in India in September 2022 at a starting price of Rs 24,999. Now, after a span of nearly one-and-a-half years, the company has finally updated its GT series by launching the Realme GT 6T in India today.

The newly launched Realme GT 6T series packs a bunch of top-of-the-line features, which include a 50MP rear camera that is powered by the latest Sony Lytia sensor, a 120W GaN charger and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 processor that was announced in March this year. Needless to say, that Realme has introduced significant changes to its GT series with the launch of the Realme GT 6T. Here is a feature-wise breakdown for your reference:

Realme 6T 6T: Initial thoughts

While the above table gives us a fair idea of all the features the Realme GT 6T packs, there’s more to the phone than these details. We will talk about that and the phone’s overall performance in a more detailed review that will follow in the coming days. But for now, here are our initial thoughts on the Realme GT 6T:

– The Realme GT 6T comes with a glass back, which gives it a more premium look than a lot of other smartphones in the range of Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000. Its back glass design, called the ‘Nano Mirror’, despite the high-gloss effect is subtle and will appeal to the aesthetics of those who prefer simpler colours and patterns. This high-gloss design is also a fingerprint magnet, which makes keeping the phone clean a bit of a challenge. Thankfully, Realme ships a silicone cover inside that solves this problem.

– On the front, the Realme GT 6T comes with a 120Hz OLED display with a curved edge design that adds to the overall premium-ness of the phone. Aside from a vibrant display, the phone comes with a bright display, which the company claims, is capable of withstanding the harsh Delhi sun. But this super bright display needs to be unlocked from the Settings app. Once you unlock these ‘Extra Brightness’ settings, the visibility gets a significant boost.

– While we haven’t had a chance to use the Realme GT 6T for long yet, it scores well on the performance part with the promise of being more. Firstly, the overall experience is smooth. Whether you are multitasking or simply unlocking the phone with its in-display fingerprint sensor, the phone handles almost anything that you throw at it with ease and speed. Of course, we will be able to talk more about it when we do a more thorough testing of the phone in the coming days.

– Aside from the basic performance, the Realme GT 6T packs the promise of being more than just another mid-ranger. The phone includes a nine-layer cooling system, which includes a 10014mm² 3D tempered dual vapour chamber which enhances its overall cooling efficiency. This cooling technology will come in handy if you plan on playing a lot of games on the phone. The promise also includes a bunch of AI powered features that are likely to arrive in the smartphone with its next update.

– Lastly, the cameras. Both the front and the rear cameras of the Realme GT 6T do a decent job at reproducing colours in the indoor lighting conditions. They also do a decent job at capturing shadows in the indoor lighting conditions. But we will have to try the phone and its camera features under various lighting conditions in order to give you a better assessment of its cameras.
