Meta is ending the language barrier while enjoying your latest content on Instagram and Facebook. People do make reels and videos all around the world in their respective languages. However, due to the language constraints, most of these videos remain viral within a country or community. Thanks to the latest update, Instagram and Facebook reels can automatically be translated, dubbed and lip-synced.  news Also Read: WhatsApp For iOS Gets A Fresh Liquid Glass Makeover Inspired By iOS 26

However, it must be noted that the feature was earlier announced in August with access to English and Spanish creators on Facebook and Instagram. Now, the feature has been expanded with more languages, including Hindi and Portuguese. What about the others? Meta says that the other languages are coming soon.  news Also Read: WhatsApp Status Sharing On Facebook And Instagram Coming Soon: Here Is How It Will Work

Meta Translation Feature: How It Works

Meta has explained that AI will replicate the creator’s voice to match the sound and tone to bring natural-sounding translations to the reels on Facebook and Instagram. Not only that, the lip sync feature can enhance the natural look to help it align with the translated audio, along with mouth movements. However, this has to be enabled by the creator. news Also Read: WhatsApp Could Soon Let Users Reserve Their Usernames: Here’s What It Means

Once done, the viewers will get the tag “Translated with Meta AI” on reels. This is to maintain the transparency with the users that AI has generated the video’s audio via translation. The good part is that the users will always have an option to enable or disable the translation according to their needs. How to access it? Simply tap on the three-dot menu, go to the audio and language settings, and click the “Don’t Translate” option.

Who can access it? Meta says, “Translating reels with Meta AI is free, and is accessible to Facebook creators with 1,000 followers or more and to all public Instagram accounts in countries where Meta AI is available.”
