OpenAI has announced its latest and, claiming to be the fastest model yet, the GPT-5 globally. And the interesting fact about the latest ChatGPT model is that it is free. Free for all without the need for a paid mode, unlike its previous version. Obviously, there are some usage limitations with the free version, but it is a step forward to make sure all ChatGPT users can taste the features and benefits of the GPT-5.

As OpenAI has launched the model, Microsoft’s CEO has announced that GPT-5 is launching on a wide range of products, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and Azure AI Foundry. “It’s the most capable model yet from our partners at OpenAI, bringing powerful new advances in reasoning, coding, and chat, all trained on Azure,” Nadella added.

Nadella also reflected on the journey so far, noting that it’s been just over two years since OpenAI CEO Sam Altman joined him to launch GPT-4 in Bing. “The pace of progress is only accelerating,” he said, adding that he’s eager to see what developers and businesses will build with it.

While many are praising and some are analysing OpenAI’s GPT-5 model, tech mogul Elon Musk has a warning for Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella. “OpenAI is going to eat Microsoft alive,” Elon Musk said in a post on X while replying to Satya Nadella.

Satya Nadella Responded

Satya Nadella was quick to respond to Elon Musk. “People have been trying for 50 years and that’s the fun of it!” he mentioned. He further said that “Each day you learn something new and innovate, partner, and compete.” He even said he’s looking forward to Grok 5.

OpenAI says GPT-5 is a leap forward in areas like coding, maths, writing, health, and visual perception. All ChatGPT users can now try it for free, while paying subscribers will get a higher usage limit. Through Microsoft’s partnership, GPT-5 is already live across its platforms, sometimes even before it appears on OpenAI’s own apps.
