The organization has announced strict measures against all the Indian content creators who upload videos with clickbait in title or the thumbnail. In an official blogpost published by the YouTube officials, it has been mentioned that Egregious clickbait occurs when the title or the thumbnail of a video consist of claims and promises that are not being delivered in the video. It has also been said that content with egregious clickbait can trigger a sense of being tricked or misled in the users. And this will happen especially in the cases when the user is on the platform to search for some crucial or time-sensitive information. All the YouTube videos that cover topics related to breaking news or current events happening all around the globe will be under the scanner with the latest YouTube policy as mentioned by the platform itself. Now, this clearly means that the flashy titles in a video, until and unless it hold a serious amount of truth could land your channel or YouTube account in trouble. And not just the title, even the same mistake in the thumbnail could have similar repercussions.
All those who are found guilty of the same will have to face dire consequences. As mentioned by YouTube itself, the content found violating the policy will the taken down from the channel. Apart from that, YouTube officials have confirmed that they will not initiate a strike against these channels so that they can adjust their content according to the new policies of the platform.
