Google has finally given its photo editing app an update after years. Snapseed, Google’s photo editing app, is finally getting some new features and a fresh new look. Right now, they’re limited to the iPhone and iPad, but they might expand to Android soon.
Snapseed Version 3.0 has started rolling out on iOS and brings the first major UI overhaul in years. The update includes a revamped interface, a new app icon, and a fresh Faves tab. Edited photos now show up in a cleaner grid view, and there’s a new floating action button at the bottom that makes it easier to jump into editing on the go.
The layout has been rearranged for better accessibility. The Looks tab now sits on the bottom left and the Tools tab on the bottom right, making them easier to reach especially when using the phone one-handed. The Export button has moved to the top right corner so you can quickly export your edits with a single tap.
The new Faves tab is now right in the middle, letting users save their most-used tools for faster access. It’s a much-needed refresh that makes Snapseed feel more modern and user-friendly.
If you’re on Android, there’s still no word on when this new update might arrive. Despite Snapseed being a Google app, Android users have been left out. Google gave a statement and said it currently doesn’t have anything to share yet about a similar update for Android. That means the last notable update Android users got was way back in 2021, when dark mode was introduced.
