How to Add Comments on Instagram Stories: Step-by-Step Guide

Popular social media platform Instagram always rolls out new features for its users from time to time. In addition to this, the company has recently released a new feature for commenting on Instagram stories. The latest feature from Instagram will allow users to comment on their friend’s stories. Earlier users could only comment on posts. Now, comments can be made directly on the story and will be visible to all viewers for 24 hours. If a story is added to the highlight, the comments will also appear there. The purpose of this feature is to increase engagement within the story section. Previously, users could only reply to the stories in direct messages. This new feature offers a more visible way for users to interact with their friends’ posts. Now, the original poster of the story will not receive the messages directly in their messages, but they can seen in the story itself. Here’s how you can add comment on the story:

STEP1: When you go to Instagram and view someone’s story, you will see a comment button at the bottom of the screen.

STEP2: Now you have to tap on the ‘Comment’ button to open the comment box.

STEP3: Next type your comment in the comment section box and press send to post it.

STEP4: The person who posted the story will receive your comment

STEP5: They can then respond to your comment and you’ll receive their response.

Users have the option to respond to Stories via Direct Message (DM) if the account holder has enabled their settings to receive messages in this way. You can turn comments on or off for individual Story posts. When on, all followers can see comments, but only mutuals can leave comments. Comments disappear after 24 hours. Commenters’ profile pictures will appear at the bottom of the Story icon, showing you there are comments before you tap to view.”
