Google is expanding Gemini’s AI prowess to more apps, making things convenient for users. Google has added the new ‘Take notes for me’ AI feature to Meet, letting you easily get notes for your Google Meet video calls. This eliminates the need for you to manually jot down notes.
Google’s new ‘Take notes for me’ AI feature powered by Gemini doesn’t just offer a simple transcription of what’s being said. Rather, it only jots down the key discussions and gives you a summary of what happened in the meeting. Basically, it makes a Minutes of meeting (MoM) for you.
Once the notes are taken, they will appear in a Google Doc linked to the same Google account. This will let users gain access to quick and short data of all the video meetings they attend on Google Meet. Further, this Google Doc that Gemini will create can be automatically sent to the attendees or added to the calendar event.
This feature is great for the workplace and that’s exactly why Google will be initially making this feature available in the Meet Workspace version. Google Workspace customers with Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, and AI Meetings & Messaging add-ons will be the first to get access to this feature.
As always with every such Gemini feature, this one will also be limited to English for now, and it will work on computers and laptops. We also expect it to work on smartphones, but we will know more about its availability later.
Google is clear about making its generative AI features available to most of its apps and services. This decision was first announced last year when it confirmed making AI available to Gmail, Docs, Meet, Sheets, and more apps and services. We already have AI features on most of these apps and we can expect more new features to be added later.
