Just a day after Google announced its Best of 2025 winners, Apple has now revealed its own list of standout apps and games on the App Store. The company has shortlisted 45 finalists across 12 categories, recognising apps that improved productivity, encouraged creativity, and made everyday routines a little easier. Well, this is not the final winner list as it will be announced in the coming weeks.

For iPhone users, the focus this year seems to be on improving daily habits and adding a bit of fun.
iPhone App of the Year finalists:

- LADDER – a strength-training app that removes the guesswork from workouts.
- Tiimo – a calmer way to manage tasks and routines.
- iPhone Game of the Year finalists:
- Capybara Go! – a quirky idle adventure featuring the internet’s favourite chill animal.
- Pokémon TCG Pocket – brings the iconic trading card experience to mobile.
- Thronefall – minimalist controls paired with strategic battles.
Top iPad and Mac Finalists
On iPad, creativity and planning take the spotlight, as iPad App finalists include:
- Detail – a new take on content creation workflows.
- Graintouch – digital art inspired by printmaking.
- Structured – a clean timeline-based planner.

- Infinity Nikki
- Prince of Persia: Lost Crown
On Mac, Apple suggested apps which are built for productivity and deeper workflows:

Mac games finalists include Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, and Neva.
- Apple Watch, Vision Pro, TV and Cultural Impact Picks: Apple Watch finalists include GO Club, Pro Camera by Moment, and Strava, reflecting Apple’s continued focus on fitness and daily wellness.
- Apple Vision Pro apps and games also made the list, with tools like Camo Studio, Explore POV, and relaxing titles such as Fishing Haven.
- Apple has also highlighted apps that made a cultural impact – from Be My Eyes to Venba, Focus Friend, StoryGraph, and Whoscall. These apps were recognised for tackling accessibility, language, mental health, creativity, and community-building.
