Independence Day is approaching, and in anticipation of this, several telecom companies, including Airtel and BSNL, are offering some of the best recharge plans in the budget segment. These festive-season promotions from telecom companies often include unlimited calling, extra data, and allow users to get more value for their money. In this regard, BSNL has also offered its latest Rs 1 Freedom Offer for users on the occasion of Independence Day.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), which is a government-owned telecom company, is offering a Rs 1 recharge plan with several benefits, including unlimited calling, extra data, and more.
BSNL posted on its X (Formerly Twitter) account about the Rs 1 recharge plan, revealing its benefits. The plan will be valid till 31 August. Rs 1 BSNL Freedom Plan will be equipped with unlimited calling along with 100 SMS per day. The call can be made on both local as well as national numbers. Additionally, the BSNL Rs 1 recharge plan also comes with 2GB of 4G mobile data. Other than this, users will also get a new SIM card under this plan.

Under this plan, as soon as you consume your allotted daily mobile data, the browsing speed will be reduced to 40kbps in line with the company’s fair usage guidelines. Nevertheless, the plan is only beneficial for first-time users, and hence, existing BSNL subscribers will not be eligible to activate this plan.
To activate this plan, users have to head straight to the nearest BSNL retailer in their location. You can also head to the CSC, which is a Common Service Centre of the company. This outlet will allow you to get a new SIN card, help you with bill payments, and recharge your mobile.
It remains uncertain, however, whether the Freedom Offer will also be extended to customers opting for BSNL’s SIM card home delivery service.
“With BSNL’s 4G—designed, developed, and deployed under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission—we are proud to be putting India among a select group of nations that have built their telecom stack. Our ‘Freedom Plan’ gives every Indian a chance to test and experience this indigenous network for 30 days—free of cost—and we are confident they will see the BSNL difference,” says A Robert J.
