Rockstar has locked in May 26, 2026 as the global launch date for GTA 6 on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Series S. The release will go live at midnight ET, though the much-asked-for PC date is still not announced.
Even with a set date, rumours suggest Rockstar may delay the game further to September 2026. Considering GTA 6 has already been pushed back multiple times, fans are hoping this isn’t another long wait.
The new GTA world will be set in Leonida, Rockstar’s version of Florida. It brings back Vice City in a refreshed form, complete with swamps, beaches, islands, and glowing neon-lit streets that give the game a modern yet nostalgic vibe.
The map won’t just be about Vice City. Players will get to roam places like Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and even the wild Mount Kalaga National Park. Each location is expected to add a different flavour to the open-world experience.
Rockstar hasn’t shown full gameplay yet, but trailers and leaks hint at a mix of classic GTA chaos and new tricks. You can expect heists, wild police chases, and added stealth mechanics like sneaking and crawling, making missions feel more dynamic.
For the first time in GTA history, we’ll see a female protagonist - Lucia Caminos - sharing the spotlight with Jason Duval. Their partnership is central to the storyline, and their interactions are expected to drive the game’s narrative forward.
The story won’t be limited to the leads. Characters like Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre’Quan Priest, Bae-Lixe, Roxy (Real Dimez), Raul Bautista, and Brian Heder are set to bring depth and variety, with each adding unique backstories and missions.
In India, GTA 6 is likely to start at Rs 5,999 for the standard edition. A special edition could be around Rs 7,299, while a Collector’s Edition may cross Rs 20,000. In the U.S., prices are expected to be between $70 and $100, depending on the version.
