Xiaomi has officially brought the Xiaomi Pad Mini to global markets, after debuting it earlier this year in China as the Redmi K Pad. The compact tablet features an 8.8-inch 3K display, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ processor, and HyperOS 2 loaded with AI features. Xiaomi Pad Mini sports an 8.8-inch LCD screen with a 3K resolution (3,008 x 1,880 pixels) and 403ppi pixel density. It offers a 165Hz refresh rate and up to 1080Hz instant touch sampling. The display’s brightness levels can go up to 700 nits, and it comes with HDR10, Dolby Vision, and TÜV Rheinland certification for eye comfort. Powering the tablet is the Dimensity 9400+ chip built on a 3nm process, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB storage. Xiaomi has added a new cooling design to keep things steady during long sessions.
On the software side, it runs HyperOS 2 (based on Android 15). The update brings several AI-driven tools like writing and speech recognition, translation, and drawing assistance. It also integrates Google Gemini and Circle to Search, making it useful for productivity as well as entertainment.
For cameras, the Pad Mini gets a 13MP rear shooter capable of 4K recording and an 8MP front camera for video calls.
The tablet packs a 7,500mAh dual-cell battery with 67W fast charging. Xiaomi claims it can charge up to 58 percent in half an hour. There’s also 18W reverse charging, so you can top up other devices using the tablet.
In the UAE, the 12GB version of the Xiaomi Pad Mini is priced at AED 1,599 (around Rs 38,600). The Pad Mini Cover costs AED 49 (roughly Rs 1,200). The tablet will roll out to more global markets in the coming weeks.
Xiaomi also launched the 15T series smartphones and the larger Redmi Pad 2 Pro alongside the Pad Mini.
