WWDC

In just a few days, Apple is set to reveal what could be its biggest iPhone update in years. With WWDC 2025 kicking off this Monday, the tech giant is expected to unveil iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS 26. But now, a new Bloomberg report has given early insights into what we can expect. These updates are said to bring everything from visual overhauls to brand-new apps and AI-powered tools. Here is everything we know.

Major UI Overhaul with a Glass Theme

Apple is reportedly introducing a fresh glass design language across all platforms. This aesthetic shift will lead to transparency, depth, and refined lighting effects to give a more modern look to the interface. Users can expect updated buttons, app icons, widgets, and menus that feel more fluid and dynamic. The new look aims to create a unified visual experience across iPhones, iPads, and Macs, setting the stage for the next era of Apple design.

App Overhauls

While most apps will see minor updates, three key apps are getting major redesigns. The Phone app will now integrate recent calls, voicemails, and favorite contacts into a more organised interface. Safari is said to feature a revamped look with a transparent menu bar and the camera app has reportedly been rebuilt from the ground up.

Multitasking Upgrades on iPadOS 26

Apple is continuing its push to bring desktop-class features to the iPad. With iPadOS 26, multitasking is getting a boost that brings it closer to macOS in functionality. New window management tools and multitasking gestures will make the iPad a more powerful productivity device, especially on the iPad Pro lineup.

iMessage Gets Smarter and More Fun

Messaging on iOS 26 is getting an upgrade too. Apple plans to add new interactive features to iMessage, including the ability to create polls within group chats. Users will also be able to further customisable chat backgrounds, making the app feel more social and expressive.

Preview and Games Apps Coming to iPhone and iPad

For the first time, Apple’s macOS Preview app is making its way to the iPhone and iPad. Known for its ability to view and lightly edit a wide variety of document types, Preview will offer more file flexibility on mobile devices. Another big addition is the new Games app, which will act as a central hub for all your Apple Arcade titles and other downloaded games. This app will feature achievements, social integration, and messaging, just like Steam.

Along with all this, the Calendar app is also getting a brand-new design. This might not launch with the initial release of iOS 26 or macOS 26. Apple is said to be working on a completely redesigned interface and a deeper feature set, which could be rolled out later this year.

Now, coming to the main highlights: AI-Powered Features.
Artificial intelligence is set to play a larger role in Apple’s upcoming software lineup. A new system-wide translation feature is expected to allow real-time conversion of text, videos, and even voice calls. On top of that, Apple is reportedly introducing AI-based battery optimisation that will intelligently learn user behavior to reduce background drain and extend daily battery life.
