Apple is just days away from kicking off its highly anticipated ‘Awe Dropping’ event on September 9, revealing a host of products, keeping the spotlight on the new iPhone 17 lineup. However, ahead of the official launch, the tech giant released the 9th developer beta of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26.
The latest beta rollout suggests that Apple is in the final stage of polishing its software before the rollout of its new products. Let’s check out what this new rollout has to offer.
Apple has rolled out a new developer beta for iOS 26 and iPadOS 26, fixing several bugs. Nevertheless, there are no major additions, and the company seems to be focusing on stability and performance more.
The public release will be happening later this month, and hence, we can expect several major updates, with one of the main ones being the Liquid Glass Interface and a redesigned camera app. In addition, there could be deeper ChatGPT integration and enhanced features across native apps.
Talking about the iPad users, iPadOS 26 comes with a new multi-window interface that improves multitasking dramatically.
Apple worked on the one small but important change and that is the introduction of the Accessibility Nutrition Labels on App Store product pages. The new labels will highlight the accessibility features in apps and games. This makes it easier for users to know whether an app will be usable for them or not.
There’s some good news for Mac users, too, after the rollout of macOS Ventura 26. With the new update, Apple is bringing the Liquid Glass design to the Mac. The update will also bring Live Activities, a smarter Spotlight with clipboard history, and Shortcuts integration. Other than this, there will also be a dedicated Phone app.
Live Translation for Messages and FaceTime will also debut, a feature that could be particularly useful for multilingual users in India. On top of that, a new Games app and the long-awaited Journal app are making their way to the Mac.
