Google DeepMind has introduced a new image editing tool into the Gemini app, dubbed as ‘Nano-Banana.’ This brand new image edition model is more advanced and fun, as per Google. This new feature allows users for creative freedom, and hence, they can modify their photos while keeping their original look intact.
One of the biggest challenges in AI photo editing has been maintaining the likeness of people across multiple edits. By bringing this new image editing tool, Google focuses on consistent appearance, including change of hairstyles, testing new fashion styles, and adding fun touches like costumes.
Additionally, the same features will apply while creating images for pets and family pictures. This will ensure that the edited version still feels authentic.
The feature is available for all users. Both free and paid Gemini users around the world can access these editing tools starting today. Every photo edited in the app will include both a visible watermark and Google’s invisible SynthID watermark to clearly mark it as AI-generated, ensuring transparency and authenticity.
Using this tool is simple:
Step 1: You need to first upload a photo and describe the changes you want.
Step 2: Then, the app can swap backgrounds and will combine multiple photos.
Step 3: The feature can even create playful scenes like putting you and your pet together in a new setting.
Step 4: For users who loves experimenting with their photos, the app will support turning still images into short videos as soon as the editing is complete.
