Samsung’s next-generation smartwatches could bring a breath of fresh air. New renders of the Watch 8 series hint at new designs across the lineup. A fresh leak has surfaced, and it shows that all the watches are going all in with the squircle design this year. The latest renders, courtesy of Android Headlines, suggest that Samsung is doubling down on the square-circle hybrid design. This squircle design debuted with the Galaxy Watch Ultra last year, and Samsung is now taking this to all three models. This could become a signature for the upcoming watches and make them stand out from the crowd. Starting first with the Galaxy Watch 8, the design changes seem subtle but noticeable. The renders show a boxier look compared to last year’s Watch 6. While the overall aesthetic remains sleek, this slight shift to a more squircle design gives it a fresh new vibe. The device is expected to launch in 40mm and 44mm just like its predecessor. Regular, Classic and Ultra
Now that we have the official Galaxy Watch8 series renders, what are your thoughts?
I’m a fan of the Ultra so here with the Ultra 2 it’s still my favorite, but the simplicity of the Watch8 is also very nice and an upgrade over previous base models pic.twitter.com/DcID0BmtTs

On the other hand, the Watch 8 Classic embraces the squircle in its own way. Earlier leaks show that it retains its signature rotating crown with visible notches, setting it apart from the Ultra. Interestingly, the Classic now seems to feature the Quick Button that was first seen on the Ultra last year. The thicker bezels and refined design give the Classic a fresh new look. Additionally, the return of the rotating bezel shows that Samsung is ready to rock again with their iconic design.
Now coming to the ultimate ultra flagship watch, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 seems to retain the same design as last year. The only tweak appears to be in the color options, as Samsung might introduce a new Blue variant alongside the classic Orange and Dark Gray. Apart from that, not much seems to have changed. The rugged frame, flat display, and dual crown buttons all appear to remain the same.
As of now, there’s no official date for the next Galaxy Unpacked event. But according to some rumours from leakers like Ice Universe, the Unpacked event might happen around July 10. This timing makes sense too, as Samsung held the Unpacked event around the same time last year.
