Assassin’s Creed games in recent years have made waves, especially after the release of its open-world trilogy – AC Origins, AC Odyssey, and AC Valhalla. While many adored the new approach, some fans complained that they missed the original stealth approach, which Ubisoft fixed in the recent Assasins Creed Mirage. The game is more stealth-driven and goes back to the roots of the franchise.
It is worth noting that Mirage was announced back in 2022, the same year as the announcement of Assassin’s Creed Hexe. While we can play Mirage right now, there’s no new official information about Hexe even after almost two years of its first announcement. So what exactly happened? Is the project shelved? No. Ubisoft appears to have big plans with the Hexe as some rumours and leaks suggest the same. Interestingly, the character details, story setting, and other details of the game are now available unofficially. Let’s delve into the details.
Assassin’s Creed Hexe or Codenamed Hexe is expected to be the first dark game in the franchise, giving users a different perspective. The teaser shared by the makers revealed an occult alphabet of the Magi, which translates to “We work in the dark to serve the light.” So, expect a dark world in the game.
The game will supposedly be set in Central Europe, around the time of the Holy Roman Empire period in the 16th century, as reported by Insider Gaming. The game may have a linear approach like the traditional Assassin’s Creed games, building on the recently released Mirage, and contrary to Valhalla and Odyssey.
Hexe is reported to feature a female protagonist – Elsa, who will have supernatural powers. With her abilities, she may be able to take control of the animals around her to escape the scene. As per a game demo accessed by Insider Gaming, Elsa possesses a nearby cat to escape from 16th-century German Soldiers who were hunting her.
Furthermore, the game is said to have a Fear System inspired by Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s Jack The Ripper DLC. The exact details of the same are unknown. However, as per the DLC, players can establish fear in enemies by brutally attacking NPCs in the surroundings.
That’s all we know about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Hexe. The game’s details are scarce for now, however, we expect to learn more as we move closer to its release. But that may not happen anytime until 2025.
