Apple is set to launch the budget Apple Watch SE 3 later this year, and it might bring one of the biggest upgrades and some exciting new features for the SE watch series. While this model was originally expected to launch in 2024, recent rumours suggest that it might launch alongside the iPhone 17 series.
Here’s what we can expect from the Apple Watch SE 3, based on the latest leaks and speculations.
The most noticeable upgrade on the Apple Watch SE 3 could be in the display. According to display analyst Ross Young, Apple is likely to increase the size of the screen to 41mm and 45mm which is a slight bump from the previous generation. This upgrade could make navigation easier and give a more comfortable viewing experience.
Under the hood, the Apple Watch SE 3 is expected to feature the new S10 chip, offering a significant performance boost over the previous SE models. This new chip could enable advanced features, such as allowing Siri to access health information without relying on cloud connections. This would be a major step toward improving performance in budget watches as well
In terms of design, the Apple Watch SE 3 will likely resemble the Series 9, with its larger display. While early rumours had suggested the possibility of a plastic finish, it appears that Apple will stick with aluminum finish for the SE 3. This keeps the watch sleek and premium, while also making it lightweight and durable design.
The Apple Watch SE 3 is set to make some significant improvements in health-tracking capabilities. Currently, the SE lacks features like ECG, sleep apnea detection, and a temperature sensor, which are found on higher-end models. However, with the Apple Watch Series 11 expected to introduce even more advanced health tracking, there’s a good chance that some of the Series 10 features will make their way to the SE 3.
The Apple Watch SE 3 will come with watchOS 12, which is expected to bring new features and improvements. One of the key changes could be in the UI inspired by visionOS. As with previous software updates, watchOS 12 will likely improve the overall experience with better performance and new capabilities.
