Realme is set to create yet another record with its upcoming GT-series phone. According to teasers posted on China’s social media platform Weibo, the Realme GT Neo 6 SE will come with a display with a whopping peak brightness of 6,000 nits. That is a lot considering it is a phone display, maybe the world’s highest brightness level for a phone. Realme has announced that it has partnered with China’s BOE, which also supplies display panels for iPhone, to bring this phone display.
With a remarkable brightness of up to 6,000 nits, the Realme GT Neo 6 SE could set a record for the smartphone industry. However, any other brand trying to match it seems unlikely. That is because neither customers nor smartphone manufacturers have demonstrated the utility of a display panel with such a high brightness level in the real world. Cognisant of this fact, Realme did mention how the display’s brightness levels will work on the GT Neo 6 SE.
In an event held in China, Realme explained that the global maximum brightness of the display will be 1,600 nits, while the manual maximum brightness will be 1,000 nits. The manual adjustment will make sure users have good control over the display’s brightness in favourable conditions through the brightness slider. However, on a very sunny day, the display’s automatic brightness will kick in. The brightness level of 6,000 nits will work locally, although Realme has not clearly stated how users will be able to utilise the display’s maximum brightness.
Realme also announced that GT Neo 6 SE’s display will have a “game super HDR” feature that will offer an enhanced gaming experience with expanded dynamic range for light and shadow effects. The display on the Realme GT Neo 6 SE will also feature eye protection, a new 3+1 pulse low-frequency flicker, 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a hardware-level low light blue light filter. Realme has also optimised the software on the GT Neo 6 SE to include features such as adaptive display, sleep mode, and paper eye protection.
